Natural Elements is owned and managed by me, Alison Burnett.

Born in Inverness, I trained at Glasgow School Of Art and then worked in interior design in London. In 1999 I returned to Scotland where I fell love with Inveraray, a small architecturally distinguished town in Argyll. It was here in Inveraray that I set up and opened Natural Elements in 2001

My aim with Natural Elements was to provide a unique and friendly environment, where customers can view some of the very best work of Scottish craftmakers and designers and this website is an extension of that aim. I am very proud of what Scottish craftspeople are producing, it’s wonderful to see how much passion and care is put into every piece of work.

I believe that good design is fundamentally based on integrity, elegance and beauty. It’s something of an attraction of the senses, firstly the eye, then touch and then a passionate warming to the heart.

Scottish people are a passionate race despite a rather a rather wet and wild climate, and this is evident where ever Scots express themselves, whether through art & design, music or writings, even through our history.

I enjoy finding new designers to add to the gallery. During the season you will mostly find me running the gallery doing all the day to day management. Mixing with customers and craftspeople.

Archie's CV

Job/ Title: Chief Of Security.( Can detect a ice-cream from miles away)
Favourite Pastime: Breaking In to the Freezer, and lounging in the garden.

In my freetime I’m off out exploring the hills with my dog, Archie. Existing customers already know Archie, my beagle from his puppy years being in the gallery.

In the winter I am usually traveling around Scotland sourcing new work and visiting trade fairs. It’s pretty hectic and no two days are the same!!
